Importance of SEO Writing & WordPress SEO Plugins That Get You There, A Blueprint for Your Online Success Part IV

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of SEO writing and understanding what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is when creating any kind of new content on your site, especially if your intention is to attract site traffic that actually converts into a paying client, subscriber, whatever your objective may be.

Importance of SEO Writing for SEO Small BusinessWith this in mind I want to share with you the basics of an SEO Keyword Page

SEO Writing Basics:

Now these are called “Basic Mechanics” because not all optimized keyword pages are the same. When I run a Competitive Keyword Report against top ranking pages on Google, I get more information on how to tweak my keyword page if I want to rank in one of the Top 10 positions on Google for a particular keyword.

If you follow these basic instructions, you will begin to become proficient at SEO writing for your keyword pages. (These pages are also known as Lead Capture Pages, Landing Pages and Squeeze pages.) Your chances of being found on your keyword will greatly improve following these simple steps.

Importance of Search Engine Optimization? Here’s the Scoop on SEO Writing:

Importance of SEO includes focus on 1 keyword{Focus}

You need to choose 1 keyword to focus on, in your SEO writing, and 1-2 other related keywords to use throughout your page.

{Content Length}

Longer content typically ranks higher than shorter content, so shoot for 750-1000 words. (I know that may sound like alot, but it’s what gets ranked higher…typically)

{Keyword Density}

Your Keyword or keyword phrase needs to have a keyword density of 2%-4%. so you need to use your keyword or keyword phrase at least 10 times throughout your page and use the other 1-2 related keywords 5-10 times combined throughout your page. The trick is to make it sound good and not too keyword “spammy”.

{Use of Headers and Sub-Headers}

You need to break up your content with Headlines aka Headers. You need to have 1 of each:

  1. 1-H1 Header
  2. 1-H2 Header (this is a sub head)
  3. 1-H3 Header (This is a sub-sub head)

You must use your primary keyword in each header/headline

{Use of Emphasis}

SEO Writing Training would include knowing that your primary keyword needs to be bold, underlined and italicized at least one time for each one the page

{First Sentence of Your Page}

You need to use your primary keyword or keyword phrase in the first sentence, preferably the first word in you first sentence if you can make it sound good.

{Last Paragraph of Your Page}

You need to use your primary keyword or keyword phrase in the last sentence along with some of your other related keywords.
{Keyword in the 1st 100 words & keyword in the last 100 words.}

{Image Alt Tags}

SEO Writing Classes would also cover dealing with images. When you upload an image to a website you will many times be asked for a title of the image and an Alt Tag or Alternate text. This is the text that you see when you mouse over an image on a web page. Use the primary keyword in the image alt field. If you are unsure, use the primary keyword in the title of the image as well.

{Internal Linking}

You need to hyperlink your primary keyword to another page on your website. So you highlight the keyword then insert a hyperlink. You will also have an Alt Tag field when you hyperlink (in WordPress anyways) . Use your primary keyword here as well.

{External Linking}

You need to hyperlink your primary keyword to another page on an external. So you highlight the keyword then insert a hyperlink. You will also have an Alt Tag field when you hyperlink (in WordPress anyways) . Use your primary keyword here as well. Choose a website that is related to what you do and make sure it is of value to your website reader.

Meta Information

{Meta-Title}

Primary keywords need to be in your Meta Title

{Meta-Description}
